THE LUTHERAN CENTER: NELCM - LINCOLN

WHO WE ARE

Greetings and peace from our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ,

To determine who we are at the Lutheran Center is quite the task.

Sometimes we are quiet, deep in reflection of God’s mysteries and love during Morning Prayer. During these moments, students, staff, and friends from the community gather to start their days with prayers for our world, enemies, families, congregations, and the community of Lincoln. Beautiful, thoughtful, and sometimes even funny questions emerge from this time listening to the daily readings. Students who dedicate themselves to this time, find it energizes their day in the right direction.

Other times we are rowdy and intense. Students demonstrate genuine camaraderie during the Beta Sig flag football season. Students at UNL don’t only cheer on their Black Shirts, they also cheer on the most under-rated flag football team of Husker nation. By the championship games, a small, but mighty contingent of supporters cheered on their favorite boys in red.

When students really show their strengths, they are leading and planning worship, trips, meals, and community outreach. A committee of students plan worship each week. When people wonder what hope there is for the church’s future, they should rest assured that there are amazing students who demonstrate deep faith with questions that cause us all to grow closer to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

God is good, and we see that through the lives of our students all the time. If you’re a student, and want a church home to call your own during these college years, we’re here. We welcome questions, people, and strive to live as Jesus called us – to love the world.

Peace,
